Birmingham City: Whole team pulling in right direction says Alex McLeish
BLUES’ whole squad are pulling the same way to try to get promotion, Alex McLeish has claimed.
Even those left out or on the fringes have shown the perfect attitude.
“I have said before that morale in the dressing room is terrific. It remains that way,” enthused the manager.
“I’ve got players who are left out of the team who have been fantastic behind the scenes.
“Damien Johnson, for instance, is the club captain and he knows what’s happening for a manager at this stage of the season and he’s been very supportive of my selection.
“He has not really figured that much, but I know he’s another one who will play a part – and has played a part – since getting fit after a back injury.
“Martin Taylor, I made one of those tough decisions for Doncaster Rovers because he played great the previous three games. I have got to emphasise it was nothing to do with the goal we lost at Barnsley. I feel Liam Ridgewell gives us a nice balance in defence on the left-hand side – a better balance.
“Martin’s got to be the unluckiest man at the club to lose his position.
