Birmingham City star Liam Ridgwell is focused on promotion
LIAM Ridgewell today stressed that Blues were totally focused on their seasonal goal of promotion.
And the vice-captain said Blues remained determined to hold off the challenge of the teams trying to overhaul them.
Both Reading and Cardiff City faltered over the weekend and although Sheffield United – winners at Ninian Park – have built up a head of steam, Blues were still in the favourable and preferred position.
“It’s roll on the next game,” said Ridgewell, who admitted that Blues let their recent standards slip in the 1-1 draw at home to Norwich City.
“You don’t start thinking about what the other teams are doing or who they are playing.
“You can get caught up in it all when you start doing that, who has got games in hand, who could win what.
“We’ve seen in the last month or so that so much happens in this league you can’t predict anything. You look at Cardiff with their games in hand and they’ve not won them all, Reading as well are still behind us.
“We can’t worry about other teams but take care of our own games and keep going to the end of the season.”
And every point counts, said Ridgewell.
