David Gold: It's not how Birmingham City get promoted that counts

DAVID Gold insists he’s never been bothered with how exactly Blues achieve promotion this season.

And the chairman also admits he finds it hard to criticise any area of Blues’ on-the-field progress under Alex McLeish.

While Blues have been sat in the Championship’s automatic promotion spots for the vast majority of the season, not everybody has been happy.

Expectation has been that McLeish’s side should be blowing away opposition in style this season on their way to a comfortable journey back to the Premier League.

That hasn’t been, and was never likely to be, the case.

Gold admits he’s been disappointed by the negative vibes surrounding the club this season but insists as long as Blues get promoted then he will be a happy man.
