Your views on Perth Glory interest in Birmingham City striker Kevin Phillips
Tonka: I would be doubtful if they could afford him, 5yrs ago Perth Glory were top but it all changed when the league was suspended for a season to allow the Hyundai league to start. The club could not afford to pay players to sit around for a year so had to release them now they finish way down and are terrible to watch, low attendances and have owners who don't spend, sounds like the Blues!
Even at his age though I would guess he could score 20+ in that league while enjoying the beach's we have here in Perth.
KangooPete1951: Kevin Phillips will do what's best for himself and I assume he has family.....his playing days are numbered altho his contribution to football and Blues has been brilliant.
It looks like should we be promoted he would only be used as a substitute now and again finishing your career in Australia would'nt be a bad end he could then return to the U.K and into football management if he wished.
Whatever his decision I'm sure ALL Blues Supporters would wish him every success and thank him for what he's done at Blues.
SupaCragg: Keep him. Ask an Albion fan if they would have been happy with Phillips coming on with 15 to go to poach the odd goal.
15 mins a week in the Premiership or playing aussie soccer?
ForeverBlues: Kevin Phillips lives about 5 minutes up the road from me, while I dont claim to know him, he is a local so alot of people I know do know him to speak to. He has not long moved house with his wife and daughters and is currently seeking planning permission to extend the property however he has come across a few problems. I am told though that he is DETERMINED not to move away from the area as his kids are settled in school and he always puts his family first.
The house he has got now is meant to be his dream home and somewhere that he and his wife planned to stay long term.
So I cannot see it happening unless his wife has a change of heart and talks him into it. Remember, he had other offers before he came to us and if he had wanted a change he could have done it then but he chose to stay in the Midlands.
BlueJohn2008: Why would he go? He's on good money at Blues so why would he go to Perth. I didn't even knew Perth had a football team! He's to good for that league. he wouldn't want to disrupt his family to play in Austrailia for a year. Super kev STAY AT BLUES!!! He has saved us so many times this season with his goals, without phillips this season well.......
