Birmingham City: Alex McLeish welcomes back James McFadden

The recent problem has been to McFadden’s other knee, not the right one that needed minor surgery before the trip to Reading 12 months ago.
McLeish said he hoped Blues suffered no more injury blows this week during the international games, and a private friendly was likely to be arranged to bring those on their way back up to speed.
“The international boys, we just need to keep our fingers crossed,’’ said McLeish.
“Costly has two games, Larsson, the Northern Ireland boys as well, Jaidi has got one game, Bouazza went away and Sinclair has a game.
“But we do want to look to get a match of sorts this week for the rest, the ones who are coming back into it, to see what level they are at.”
