Birmingham City talking point: Carsley tackle slammed

Lee Carsley

Birmingham City skipper Lee Carsley was sent off in last night's derby clash with Wolves for a challenge on Wolves striker Chris Iwelumo.

How bad was the challenge? Is a three-match ban correct or should it be more? Let us know what you think by emailing us here

Here's a couple we have received so far...

KangoPete1951: Absolutely disgracefull that tackle by Carsley that could have broken the players leg... did Carsley really think he would get away with that? And in a match as important as this on Sky.

VillanfromLuton: Got to say it was an awful challenge, very out of character for Carsley, who I have always thought of as hard but fair.

Dave Jacobs: This is not the image we want from our skipper, especially with the eyes of the footballing world on us. Premiership refs will have our card marked before we go up as a team of thugs. Appalling challenge. Deserves a 10-match ban!

J.Dolcy: It was over enthusiastic, not deliberate though. He should come out and apologise for it. All forgotten then.

TTKL: All this talk of promotion seems a bit daft - yes we won the game without him but the obvious poroblem we now have is replacing him for 3 key games. That could really stuff our season us!
