Devlin: Palace could throw spanner in works for Birmingham City

PAUL Devlin has backed Neil Warnock’s Crystal Palace to ‘throw a spanner in the works’ for Blues on Sunday.
While pole-positioned Blues take on Reading, the race for automatic promotion could also come down to Sheffield United’s trip to Selhurst Park.
And ex-Blues striker Devlin believes that fixture will be all about bragging rights as Warnock prepares to welcome his former understudy Kevin Blackwell.
Devlin worked with both Warnock and Blackwell at Notts County early in his career before being reunited with the duo at Sheffield United.
Fears have been raised over the possibility of ex-Blades boss Warnock giving his boyhood club an easy time on Sunday.
However, knowing the mentality of both managers, Devlin has rubbished that suggestion.
“No way,” insisted the ex-Scotland international. “I know Neil Warnock very well and knowing the character of the man, I don’t see him making it any easier for Sheffield United.
