Lee Bowyer is planning talks over his future at Birmingham City

LEE Bowyer and his agent will sit down with Alex McLeish later this week in a bid to thrash out a deal to bring the midfielder to Blues permanently.
The ex-England international was a huge success after arriving on a six-month loan from West Ham in January and quickly became a key member of McLeish’s squad.
The 32-year-old does not figure in the Hammers’ plans and is available on a free transfer.
McLeish has already admitted that signing up both Bowyer and Stephen Carr, who is expected to put pen-to-paper in the next couple of days, permanently was his top priority as he prepares for life back in the Premier League.
And the Blues boss, Bowyer and his representative will meet as soon as McLeish returns from his trip to Scotland, where he took in Rangers’ 1-0 victory over Celtic on Saturday – for pleasure and not business as has been reported north of the border.
A source close to Bowyer has revealed the East Londoner has several other options to consider but that he is very interested in moving to Blues having played a major part in the club’s promotion. It would appear Blues are firmly in the driving seat for the former Charlton, Leeds and Newcastle man.
