Cameron Jerome waits for new deal at Birmingham City FC

Manager Alex McLeish has not always preferred Jerome as a first-choice starter, and has asked him to help out on the wing at times.
The last time Blues were in the Premier League, in 2007-08, Jerome was the club’s second top scorer with seven goals, five of them coming away from home, from 21 starts and 12 substitute appearances.
This season he made 25 starts and came off the bench 18 times.
■ Blues have confirmed dates for four pre-season friendlies.
A first team squad will take on League Two outfit Dagenham & Redbridge on Wednesday, July 29, at the Victoria Road ground (7.30pm), two days after Blues return from a pre-season tour in Austria.
Blues will travel to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, August 1 (3pm) then a Blues XI will face Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road on Sunday, August 2 (3pm).
A Blues XI will take on Hednesford Town at Keys Park on Sunday, August 9 (2pm).
The 2009-10 Premier League season starts on Saturday, August 15.
