Birmingham City fans have their say on Bobo Balde
Harborne1:A no lose situation and why not have a look at him and see how fit and hungry he really is.
I do not usually agree to giving seasoned internationals trials because they have nothing to prove, only their fitness and that will come in training and time but with this guy its different.
He has been sitting around for 12 months doing nothing but getting very rich and i actually think AM has approached this in the right way and let the player prove he really wants to join Blues.
I would also really hope we are going for another CH with even more pace then Balde becuase im not to sure how much he has left to burn?
Bluesbrotheruk:I think I'm on my own with this one but I really hope we dont sign this guy - not in the Celtic team and asking for astronomical wages, free or not he just is not worth it.
CliftonBlueRoger:My issue with this is that he is over 30 - and McLeish said he was going to bring in young players .
This gives the wrong impression to the fans and wont lead to increased season tickets .
We need a signing to excite the fans and boost season ticket sales .
Monkeyman:We should handle this the same way as we handled the Carr situation. Give him some time to prove himself and get fit, and if he makes the grade then give him a 1 year deal. Ever since we have been linked with Balde I have been dead set against us signing him, however with Carr being such a revelation, I am a lot warmer to the idea of signing him now. Lets hope he can have a similar impact to Carr.
Mallett: Am I right in thinking this is the man that refused to join us, did not fancy having to work hard in the championship, but now we are in the premiership, he feels he can join us now. sorry but not for me, he had his chance told us to go forth, so why should we get his career back on line.
Bygblue: It is not just out of loyalty that I have to say that this is one of the least impressive bits of business Eck has or will ever do.
This guy is ancient, unfit and not good enough to get into the Celtic team even against the likes of Falkirk etc. Why are we letting a loyal club player, a seasoned professional with many years Prem experience who is the same age and has spoken about his willingness to compromise on wages be shunted out of the door to take an unknown gamble on Balde. He might turn out to be the best thing since sliced bread, but there is no logic in this situation, its completly baffling.
And before anyone suggests it is not a gamble, yes it is because by the time Balde is found out to be no good, Jaidi will have a contract elsewhere.
