“Since I arrived at Santos I tried to do things well, from the first game I gave everything on the pitch. I said that I came to Mexico to give my best and to see if a European club would require me to produce what I did with Santos.”
“Thanks to the fans, the press and the whole region (of Laguna), I am very grateful to all, I will never forget them because I am very proud to have been here in a big team.”
Meanwhile Blues are expecting to find out whether Lee Bowyer (inset)will accept their contract offer early next week.
West Ham confirmed on Wednesday that Bowyer, who spent the second half of the season on loan at Blues, was one of six players who were free to leave Upton Park.
Alex McLeish is eager to secure the 32-year-old midfielder’s services following his impressive impact on Blues’ promotion-winning campaign.
Blues have offered the ex-England international a permanent contract and the club expect to get a Bowyer’s decision either way after the weekend.
