Alex McLeish says Stuttgart game should have given Birmingham City a TV windfall

‘‘As it transpired that wasn’t the case and I would have never taken it on if I knew that was going to happen.

“In the end, I was delighted with the performance in that one, delighted with the system.

“The personnel did work in that game for that [4-5-1] system.

“We tried a slightly different system last night against Augsburg and it wasn’t very good.

‘‘But that doesn’t allow for the fact that some of us were lacking a touch and a little bit of sharpness. For me, that was down to pure tiredness.”
