Birmingham City: Marcus Bent promises to deliver this season

MARCUS Bent today declared he was happy at Blues but well aware that more was expected from him.
The striker, who got Blues’ pre-season campaign up and running with the only goal at Dagenham & Redbridge, has been the subject of plenty of speculation regarding his future.
He has been linked with various clubs, touted for potential loans or permanent transfers, but said his aim was to make a mark for Blues in the top flight.
Bent, like most other forwards at the club, played his part during the Championship promotion season but was unable to hold a regular place.
And he received a fair bit of stick too.
Bent told the Birmingham Mail: “Since the start of my career my name’s been linked with every team in the country I think.
“I have still got two years left on my contract.
“My eyes weren’t closed last season. I know that certain people weren’t happy with me, certain people who wanted more out of me.”
Was that fair, or unjust?
