Martin Taylor out for 12 weeks as Blues' defensive worries grow

Martin Taylor

MARTIN Taylor is likely to be sidelined for up to 12 weeks.

The Blues defender had to be taken off on a stretcher at Nottingham Forest following a header on goal. He fell badly and then a Forest player landed on his ankle.

Scans have shown severe ligament damage and Taylor’s absence has increased Alex McLeish’s headaches.

“Tiny suffered a bad twist of the ankle,” said McLeish. “It will keep him out for a considerable period of time.

“So we’ve lost him as well as others and it has made centre-half problematic for us.

“Franck Queudrue came in for his first game last night, at centre-half, and you could see he was extremely rusty.

“We are definitely short in that department but it’s just down to lady luck.”
