BIRMINGHAM City bosses were today caught on the hop by the news that Carson Yeung could be ready to reignite his takeover bid.

They reacted with surprise and shock, but pointedly refused to confirm or deny whether they were about to sell up and end their 16-year St Andrew’s reign.

The Hong Kong businessman already owns 29.9 per cent of the shares in Blues and is apparently prepared to make an offer for the remaining stakeholdings of David Sullivan, David Gold and Ralph Gold.

The speculated buyout is far from cut and dried, but it would seem that Yeung is back on the scene.
