Alex McLeish: Birmingham City have the legs to compete

ALEX McLeish has admitted he would like to get some younger legs into the Blues team.
But he railed at suggestions that his side were predominantly one-paced and not brimming with enough athleticism.

“Lee Bowyer’s got the legs, without a doubt, absolutely,” he said, turning to his first example. “He can get up and down the pitch.
“Bowyer’s not lost his legs. He might not be as quick as some other midfielders in the country at some of the top clubs. But I don’t think his legs have gone and he’s still at the same kind of pace levels he was when he was at Leeds United.
“Barry Ferguson has got decent pace. He was never lightning. But I don’t think he’s got slower and he’s probably at his peak now as a footballer.
