Birmingham City must seize early chances against Spurs - Parnaby

“Their goal gave us a kick up the backside really.

‘‘Once we got on top and we were playing on the front foot, we looked like cutting them apart. We got it on the deck and played the stuff we know we can play.”

Blues had only registered a James McFadden penalty this season before the St Mary’s tie.

Parnaby insisted that Blues did have goals in the team.

“We created chances, and once big Garry O’Connor came on, he caused havoc, didn’t he?” he said.

“Once you get in down the sides as well, putting crosses over, you cause problems. That’s what we started to do at Southampton after that poor start.

“It’s obviously going to be harder in the Premier League. You are against better defences and teams are harder to break down.

“But the boys up front have got goals in them. I don’t see why we won’t score enough from open play.
