Birmingham City: Carson Yeung must keep faith in Alex McLeish - defender

“You can’t argue with the squad we’ve got. Maybe we do need one or two more bodies in, and that’s something the manager’s looking at.

“But just because there’s going to be a change in owners, who’s going to come in and do a better job that what the manager’s done so far?

“He got the club back up from the Championship at the first time of asking after relegation and everyone can see how we’ve been playing and what we’ve being trying to do this season.

“He’s still building the team and squad to his liking and you can’t take all that away from someone this early. It would be a joke, to be honest, if they got someone else in.

“As I said, maybe with a couple more players the manager and all of us would be even happier, and things would be even better. The manager, the coaching staff should stay as it is.”

Stuart Parnaby was brought to Blues by Bruce just as the Yeung first came onto the scene.

He saw at first hand the chaos the botched buy out caused and the affect it had during that 2007-08 season, which ended with Blues being relegated.

“We would welcome that if the new owner comes in and keeps the manager, as he said he would,” Parnaby commented.

“Stability is the big thing in the Premier League. If you don’t have that, if there is uncertainty, that’s when it gets hard.

“As a player you just haven’t got a clue when there’s upheaval. You don’t know who is going to be in charge, who is going to be looking after anything .

“If the takeover happens and nothing really changes at the club then fair enough, we just get on with it.

“But when there are big changes like managerial stuff, that’s when it becomes difficult.

“If we can keep going the way we have and take on board the ideas the manager is trying to get across, then we’ve got half a chance. If everything stays the same the lads would be happy.”
