“And I don’t mind input from the owners.
“We can lock heads together and if both of us agree on things, fine.
“I have done it before at three clubs now. At Rangers, David Murray has a good knowledge of football. He liked to be involved.
“David Sullivan has plenty of contacts and knowledge as well.
“If we can do things together – but it’s got to be my final decision – then we can go forward with, I think, great optimism.”
Much has been made of Yeung’s supposed penchant for interfering.
He was criticised by a former coach of his side Hong Kong Rangers for wanting a say in player recruitment and selection.
But that level is a world away from the Premier League.
And two years ago, when Steve Bruce was concerned about whether players would be hoisted upon him after Grandtop International’s initial investment in Blues, Yeung made a telling public comment.
He said: “It’s not for me but Steve Bruce who will choose the players. I’ll respect our coach.”
