Birmingham City: Carson Yeung clarifies Macca position
Carson Yeung has revealed more about the planned role at Blues for Steve McManaman once his buy out of the club has been completed.
The former England ace is an executive director of Grandtop International Holdings, the takeover vehicle.
He, along with former France star Christian Karembeu, another Grandtop board member, will be asked to provide expertise in scouting and 'international relations'.
The pair became friends with Yeung through associates in south east Asia and have acted as ambassadors for him and his businesses.
So the pair, both former Real Madrid players, are likely to be figureheads for the new-look Blues regime in China and the Far East, as well as use their own football contacts to make recommendations on new recruits.
Yeung has already ruled out a role for McManaman on the coaching staff, or even succeeding Alex McLeish as manager.
