Takeover talks don't concern Birmingham City players - Stephen Carr

“The current owners have done well. Financially it’s a very sound club, and there’s not many that are.
“As much as people might give it out about the amount of money spent, it’s very hard to get that balance.
“Maybe it’s better what they’ve done than spending lots and lots of money and if you go down you’re left with the consequences.
‘‘Look at Newcastle United. You can see why.
“Hopefully with the new owners coming in they might have another view on it and financially they will give more money. Who knows?
“But they have done well. It’s a steady ship. It’s just important now that we can stay in the league and try and develop as the kind of Premier League team we all want to be, not one that’s up and down.
“It’s been like that the last few years – up, down, up, down – and I think the fans are sick of that as well. They want Birmingham to be stable and stay in the league.
“But, as I’ve said, it’s become very hard. There’s plenty of money in the Premier League now, teams are spending a lot, and clubs, especially likes ours who have just come up, have to consider the risks.”
