Birmingham City: Fans reaction to Chris Lepkowski's view on Big Eck's tactics

Chris Lepkowski

West Bromwich Albion reporter Chris Lepkowski looked at the Birmingham City tactics debate through the eyes of an outsider yesterday in his comment piece for the Birmingham Mail.

The opinions raised in the piece sparked a frenzied reaction from Blues fans who clearly still feel this is a big issue, here's what they had to say... be warned there are a few pages!

PositiveBluenose: Chris, a very well written comment which I totally agree with. Unfotunately it will be ignored by the anti-McLeish brigade who look for any opportunity to have a go at him. This week it's 4-5-1, if we don't win against Burnley it will be something else. These are the same people who were lauding him after the Hull match. You know what they say about Brummies, they're only happy when the're moaning.

Bluebloodedboy:Abso-bloody-lutely!

I really do hope that more bluenoses read this article, open their eyes and embrace a bit of reality.

By the very nature of football, we are currently one of the poorest teams in the best leaugue in the world. Our sole aim is to stay up, full stop.

I am actually a fan of 4-5-1 and believe it is right for us at this particular time, however, it really is the players that win or lose a game.

I am quietly confident of McLeish, however, I do feel it was his team choice and substitutions that were more to blame last saturday than the formation.

We were crying out for more attacking impetus from midfield, someone to actually beat a man or simply hug the touchline to pull their defenders wider. Whatever your opinion of McSheff, why leave him on the bench when we're struggling at home and he's the only real attacking MF on the bench.

Its not Ecks fault that O'Connor isn't good enough, that phillips is too old and that Jerome was injured (and not good enough anyway!).

Lets get 20 points by the new year and see what Carson can get us in the january sales!!!
