Birmingham City prepares for arrival of new regime

Key Birmingham City St Andrew's staff have been told to make presentations to Carson Yeung's people on Monday.

Senior managers from commercial, marketing and administrative arms of the club have been tasked with outlining their roles and responsibilities.

It's the first step in the new owners plan to get to grips with running a Premier League football club.

Sammy Yu, chief operations officer of Grandtop, and Peter Pannu, Yeung and Grandtop's consultant and lawyer, are expected to receive the presentations and then possibly meet other staff and tour the stadium.

Colin Tattum will be discussing the takeover and other matters in a live Q&A at 12.30pm this friday at www.birminghammail.net/live

Yu is set to become Blues vice president football, with a brief to liaise with Alex McLeish and expand Blues scouting and Academy structure to Far East destinations in particular.

Pannu should assume the role of Blues vice president finance, and he has been interviewing candidates for the CEO position.

A figure with Premier League experience is the ideal requirement and Pannu will present his preferred choice for Yeung's approval in due course.

McLeish has already spoken briefly with Yu on the telephone and the manager and his staff will meet Yeung, probably at the Wast Hills training HQ, once he has flown in.

Yeung, whose English is limited, could wait another week before arriving in Birmingham, allowing Yu and Pannu more time to get their feet under the table and put practices into place.
