Alex McLeish said he did not feel threatened by Steve McManaman’s proposed involvement at Birmingham City.

He claimed that he wouldn’t mind if he used his contacts to recommend players.

Another former Real Madrid star, French ace Christian Karembeu, is also going to be employed by Carson Yeung in an ambassador role.

Both McManaman and Karembeu are directors of Grandtop International Holdings, the shell firm used to buy Blues, and pals of Yeung and his aides.

“Team selection and transfers is the normal remit of a manager and we will pretty much be working that way,” stated McLeish.

Colin Tattum and Andy Walker will be live online at The Emirates for match coverage and banter of Arsenal v Birmingham City. Join them and Bluenoses all over the world at 2.30pm tomorrow at www.birminghammail.net/live
