Birmingham City: Yeung’s millions will go on quality players - McLeish

“This week, we’ve gathered a bit of momentum,” admitted McLeish.
“Sammy is aware of the need to do some advanced work in order to secure some players in January.
“We know the January market can be difficult sometimes.
“I thought last time round we could have had another couple of players who I felt would have helped us to stay in the Premier League.
“But depending on what happens, there’s no reason why new players can’t benefit the aim of PL status.
“But quality, that’s what I am focused on,” added McLeish.
“For a few years in management I’ve been trying to add top quality to my squads. I have done it in parts but not been able to fully get what I wanted.”
Meanwhile, Blues have options at full-back again for tomorrow’s visit of Sunderland.
Stuart Parnaby is available again after injury and Franck Queudrue is in the fold too, although McLeish now sees him as an alternative at centre-half.
Loanee Teemu Tainio is not allowed to play against his parent club while defender Gregory Vignal “is not far away, ready to start training as of next week,” said McLeish.
Christian Benitez returns to the squad after extended leave, which took in the World Cup qualifiers, but Giovanny Espinoza is not available.
