Roger Johnson is loving his 'dream' with Birmingham City

Roger Johnson

DEFENDER Roger Johnson is enjoying every minute of his Premier League adventure with Blues.

The centre-half made the jump from the Championship in June when a £5 million deal persuaded Cardiff City to part with their lynchpin player-of-the-season.

And Johnson has adapted to life in the top flight with aggressive, determined aplomb.

He said: “I’m loving it, loving it. It’s a stupid cliché, but I’m living the dream.

‘‘I’m in the Premier League week in, week out and that’s all I wanted.

“And to be doing well at the same time is brilliant.

“I said it when I first signed it’s the best league in the world and where everyone wants to be, and I’m playing in it.

“Everyone was expecting big things, obviously me signing for £5 million. I don’t think I’ve let anyone down so far, so long may it continue.

“I am enjoying it here. I left a good club in Cardiff and I have come to another good one.

“Good staff, good lads and the results are going with us. So it’s a good place to be around at the minute.”

Blues will go to Wolves on Sunday protecting a four-game unbeaten spell.

“It is something we can build on,” said Johnson.

“I am disappointed we haven’t won four out of four but you can’t be greedy. The two draws we had were against Man City and Liverpool.

“We have stayed unbeaten, so that’s not too bad. Confidence is high in the camp.

“If we play like that, like we have recently, week in, week out, I’m sure we will put a few more points on the board and stay in the league.”
