Birmingham City: Sebastian Larsson ready to talk about a new deal

SEBASTIAN Larsson has reiterated his desire to sort out a new contract with Blues.
But the winger accepted that Blues’ new owners may have other priorities at present.
A five-year deal was left on the table by Larsson in the summer of 2008, and talks that had resumed were put on hold because of Carson Yeung’s takeover.
“All I have said all along is that it’s up to the club now to let me know what they want to do, then we will see what happens,” stated Larsson, whose present deal expires in June, with Blues having a 12-month option.
“If we can agree on something then I am more than happy to sign a new deal. But it’s one thing just saying it, you need to start talking and agree something.
“I’m not worried about it. There is a lot of new stuff I suppose for the owners and the board to deal with, we will see.”
He added: “With the old board there was a contract offer a while ago which was never signed (after relegation) and then there was not much happening until the end, when they left, and it was put on hold.
“Now there are new owners and we will have to wait and see what they want to do.
“Progress had been made, yes. We weren’t 100 per cent there, but we were close to each other than we were before.”
