EXCLUSIVE: Birmingham City owner Carson Yeung agrees to meet David Sullivan for peace talks
Nov 28 2009 by Colin Tattum, Birmingham Mail
CARSON Yeung has accepted David Sullivan’s peace offering.
The warring camps are in the process of arranging a meeting designed to settle their differences.
But the new Blues owners have reserved the right to take, or continue to take, any action they see fit against their predecessors.
Yeung and his team have been carefully considering Sullivan’s amazing apology and plea, issued to this newspaper on Wednesday.
And, after also running it by Warren Ko, Yeung’s legal adviser in Hong Kong, they have responded with a statement of their own.
It read: “The club has noted the article appearing in the Birmingham Mail on 25 November, 2009 by David Sullivan apologising for statements previously made regarding our president, Mr Carson Yeung.
“The club praises Mr Sullivan for his courage to apologise for his off-the-cuff rude remarks about the Yeung camp.
“The club stresses that any action currently taken by it against former management is purely a corporate affair in the interests of the club and is nothing personal nor should they be construed as such.
“Ever since Grandtop International Holdings Limited acquired an interest in the club in 2007 until now, no ill-mannered or demeaning statements have been made by the Yeung camp against David Sullivan et al and this situation has and will not change.
“The main aim of Carson Yeung is to devote his time and energy towards helping the club to retain its Premier League status and to be competitive in that league.
