BLUES star Lee Bowyer has hit out at the critics who continue to hound him and took particular exception to Brummie TV presenter Adrian Chiles.

The midfielder has been in sensational form for Blues this season and continues to attract nothing but praise from his boss Alex McLeish and the St Andrew’s faithful.

However, try as he might, Bowyer still can’t shake off the pundits who constantly remind him of his past mistakes.

The 32-year-old is desperate to prove that he’s a changed man, but admits that he often finds himself in a ‘no-win situation’.

In particular, Bowyer was irritated by snide comments made by Albion fan Chiles on Match of the Day 2 almost two weeks ago.

Following the highlights of Bowyer’s match-winner against Fulham, Chiles remarked that the player was still unpopular - even with his club’s own fans.

“I heard that. I don’t know whether it’s just him (Chiles) trying to be funny and making a joke of it but obviously I didn’t appreciate it,” said Bowyer, when asked about the MOTD2 host’s misguided dig.
