James McFadden: Birmingham City should be looking to kill teams off quicker

JAMES McFadden admitted that all Blues lacked against West Ham United was ruthlessness.
“We should be looking to kill teams off and everyone is looking for us to do it because of where we are, but at the start of the season you would have taken a 1-0 at home against West Ham,” said the forward.
“It would be nice to go two or three goals up and relax and enjoy the game, but it’s the Premier League and it doesn’t happen.
“We came in at half-time at 0-0 feeling disappointed. The players tried to fire each other up and get out and do better in the second half and that is what happened.
“We are willing each other on and want to get the best out of each other because we know we’ve got a good set of lads and we’ve got a settled team, and it makes a difference.”
Alex McLeish agreed with McFadden’s assessment.
“They give everything the players, don’t they?” he said.
“They are so together, they snarl at each other when it’s appropriate but they quickly get on with the job. Nobody dwells on anything, there’s no grudges held or bitterness, they just get on with it.
“It’s right that players kick each other’s backsides when needed but in general they have fantastic support for each other and you saw that on Saturday.”
