Lee Bowyer: I feel loved at Birmingham City

LEE Bowyer can feel the love at Blues – and it’s helping him play some of his best football.
It’s West Ham United’s loss, Blues’ gain.
“Everyone wants to feel loved in a way, wanted, and that is how I feel here,” he revealed. “The management, coaching staff and the fans have made me feel like that.
“I wasn’t down at West Ham. It was just I didn’t think I got a fair go once Alan Curbishley went. That is out of my hands.
“When you feel you should be playing in front of other players, you are not in control. I didn’t think I had a fair go, but that is football.
“Football is about opinions and decisions and that is why I am here now at Birmingham and I’m proving people wrong.”
Bowyer had injury problems at the Hammers, and denied it was down to their financial problems why he exited.
“But I could have still played while I was there,” he pointed out. “There are people there who are on more money than I was.
“To a certain extent, I think the money but then they might have wanted to bring the younger players through.
“I don’t know, but at the time I felt I should have been playing and I wasn’t and football is about opinions.”
Bowyer moved to Blues on loan in January then signed a two-year contract in the summer on a free transfer.
