Stud Marks: Birmingham City's Franck Queudrue reveals another talent
BLUES star Franck Queudrue is a man of many talents.
The French defender, who recently won a cook-off with team-mate James McFadden to have the official Blues curry named after him, has proved he’s as handy with a golf club as he is with a stove.
The 31-year-old topped the leaderboard in a hugely competitive longest drive competition at the NEC Golf Show recently, beating off the challenge of five of his fellow pros – Lee Bowyer, Roger Johnson, Maik Taylor, Gary McSheffrey and Stephen Carr.
Franck, who plays off a handicap of 16, registered an impressive 290 yards on the long-drive simulator, beating fellow defender Johnson into second place.
Queudrue said: “I’m normally a big hitter off the tee, but Roger is also a big hitter, but I beat him by about two yards. It’s a very good show. For those who love golf it’s the place to be.”
Franck was also one of the biggest spenders in the group, going home with a remote control electric trolley and a selection of other bargains, including a pitchmark repairer bearing the French tricolore.
