Staying up is still our aim, says Birmingham City's Liam Ridgewell

DEFENDER Liam Ridgewell has admitted Blues have been in dreamland the past couple of weeks.
“I would not have believed we would have been sixth at the start of the season, but throughout it has been fantastic in terms of our effort and desire,” he said.
“I think we fully deserve to be where we are and we showed it against Blackburn with a battling performance. It is a good team at the moment and we’ve got to keep going.”
Liverpool’s win over Wigan Athletic the next night knocked Blues down a notch to seventh place.
But the plaudits have continued to fly their way, which made Ridgewell wary.
“You get a couple of wins and everyone wants to keep winning and that is what confidence does for you. It is fantastic.
“But we’ve got to be mindful when you are going strongly and everyone is praising you. We know where we want to be ideally.
“We want to be 17th or above – in the Premier League next season,” he said. “Anything else is a bonus, but we want to stay in the league.”
