Manager has prioritised forward area, just can't get a striker in he believes is better quality than what's there. Makes sense to beef the squad with likes of Gardner and Michel as he goes along too, if those players are available, which clearly they were/are

I can't give you a 'yes' or 'no' because transfers are very fluid. eg Eck ruled out Ferguson in the summer and even said he wondered if his legs had gone. Then other targets fell through and he ended up buying him. personally, I have said all along, Pavlyuchenko would be a good signing.
