The news that Alex McLeish is in talks with Birmingham City over a new contract has been met with huge support from the St Andrew's faithful.

Q2148: Big Eck certainly has the ability and if he is given a long term contract and no interference and is left to manage he can take blues to heights we have never attained before. ie europe and a cup and top 8 premiership stability.

SpionKop: Its gonna be nice to be apart of this new era at Blues, Big Eck's new contract was well deserved. That should keep Liverpool and the other clubs sniffing around, for the mean time. Its a ruthless business, being a Premier League manager. Lets hope he doesnt do anything silly and lose track on where we all want to be.
Exciting time for us Blues fans, 8th in the league, quarter final of the FA Cup, not bad at all really.

PositiveBluenose: So glad that it looks like we will agree a new contract with Big Eck. He absolutely deserves it, he is the clubs biggest asset. I'd love to see him here for the next ten years.
He talks such good sense about all things to do with the club and it is obvious he wants us to become a force in the PL. With Carson Yeung's backing It looks like he could achieve great things in the future.
