ALEX McLeish is feeling ‘‘positive’’ after talks with the Blues board about finances for next season.

McLeish met Peter Pannu and Michael Dunford at Wast Hills to dissect various requirements and formulate plans.

Although it was made clear that Blues would not go money mad in the transfer market this summer, the scope was there to make extra cash available for top stars.

“It was a good meeting, positive,” said the Blues boss. “I gave Peter my thoughts that some things needed to be done right now, sowing seeds for players in the summer, but I needed to steal a march on one or two other things as well in order to get – that word my wife slags me off for using too much – the infrastructure right.

“And just to make sure that we’ve got the oil in the system. Peter was great, he was honest. Michael likewise.

‘‘They will try their best to help us – that’s the job, to help the manager – and obviously Carson Yeung is the man who will sanction things.
