Alex McLeish stays calm over Birmingham City contract duo

ALEX McLeish was today totally relaxed about the futures of Liam Ridgewell and Sebastian Larsson.
The pair have been negotiating new Blues deals for several weeks, but nothing has yet been concluded.
Out of contract in the summer, there have been suggestions that Ridgewell is poised to slap in a transfer request unless Blues agree terms soon.
McLeish said: “I think that we’re working on Liam and Seb. As far as I’m aware, we’re quite close. That was a couple of weeks ago.
“I’m sure the guys will get a fair offer each, certainly money I could only have dreamed of when I was a player.
“I got my fiver rise at Aberdeen and Sir Alex Ferguson said to me ‘you’re bleeding the club dry!’.”
McLeish’s humour and chilled manner is evidence that there’s no great concern or panic on his part.
