James McFadden enjoying life leading from the front again

JAMES McFadden admits he is relishing being in the thick of things up front again.
But he knows he has to continue to maintain a high level of performance – and work rate – if he is not to be moved out wide left.
“I prefer it there, where I am now,” he says. “I’ve made no secret of it. I never complained when I was playing on the wing but the manager has given me a few chances up there now and I’ve enjoyed it.
“I’m working hard, getting tired, but I don’t mind that. I really enjoy it.”
Christian Benitez has lost his place to McFadden, who says that his role is not that of an out-and-out striker’s; Alex McLeish demands more.
Says McFadden: “First and foremost, when you are up there, you need to do a job for the team, get back and help out the midfield and that’s what I’ve been doing, and also hopefully get a chance – and take it.
