Birmingham City expect Manchester City bid to bring back Joe Hart to fail
Birmingham City are unlikely to lose Joe Hart to Manchester City before the season is out.
Manchester are to ask the Premier League for special dispensation to cut short his loan after Shay Given's injury.
They will argue that they are without their top three 'keepers as Stuart Taylor is on the mend from knee surgery.
Even if the Premier League gave them the green light - which Blues sources insist is a non-starter - Manchester would need FIFA's blessing, Blues' too and Hart's agreement.
Given dislocated his shoulder at Arsenal and he could even miss the start of next season, which would have obvious ramifications for Blues chances of either signing Hart permanently or retaining him on another loan.
Manchester currently have Faroe Islands international Gunnar Nielsen and Columbian David Gonzalez for their duties between the sticks.
They believe their predicament is unprecedented and an alternative is to request the opportunity to bring in someone else on loan, citing
exceptional circumstances.
But they appear doomed to failure in either case and Hart, again magnificent for Blues in the derby against Villa, is set to see out the
campaign at St Andrew's.
Rumours that Blues are close to announcing the Bosman free transfer signing of Rangers striker Kris Boyd, meanwhile, seem premature.
It is understood that Blues have yet to agree a deal with Boyd and are considering other options as well.
