Birmingham City: Stuart Parnaby targets taking Stephen Carr's place

STUART Parnaby said he had no second thoughts about re-signing for Blues.
And he revealed he was ready for the tough challenge of trying to unseat captain Stephen Carr from the side.
Parnaby accepted a new 12-month deal from Alex McLeish, who carefully monitored his fitness and form during the second half of last season.
At one stage Parnaby was left distraught by a nagging back complaint but recovered completely to be ready for action.
But Carr was pretty much an immovable object at right-back.
“Now it’s done, I’m just pleased to have the year extension,” Parnaby told the Birmingham Mail. “I’m ready to go really.
“I just hope I have a good pre-season and can try and force my way into the gaffer’s thinking.
“I don’t want to just come back and think I’m going to be there standing watching Stevie play every game.
“I still want to play as much as I can and I will try my hardest to get in the team.
“I’d like to believe that I’d be breathing down his neck.
“I don’t expect, just because of his age, to walk in.
