In-form Garry O'Connor gunning to be a new man for Birmingham City this season

BIRMINGHAM City striker Garry O’Connor has vowed to return a different player this season.
The striker has bagged two in two for Blues to maintain a 100 per cent record on this Far East tour for Alex McLeish’s men.
Having bagged a late winner against a Hong Kong League XI on Sunday, O’Connor coolly slotted home a Cameron Jerome lay-off in the 82nd minute against Beijing Guoan to seal a 1-0 victory inside the Bird’s Nest last night.
It continues the Scotsman’s mission to impress, as the ex-Hibernian man aims to secure a long-term contract having recently penned a six-month deal in a bid to prove his fitness to McLeish.
Having come through a series of operations, O’Connor is finally free of the hip and groin problems that have hampered his career since he returned to British football from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2007.
And the 27-year-old is now out to make the impact that he has promised in glimpses throughout his three-year Blues career.
