Birmingham City winger Keith Fahey happy to be the creative force

KEITH Fahey is happy to be Birmingham City's creative force as he continues to excel at St Andrew’s following a ‘life-changing’ move last year.
The likeable Irish winger moved to the Midlands from his homeland in January 2009 and has gradually improved in royal blue.
This season Fahey has been deployed in a number of roles, including out on the wide left and right, and in the centre of midfield.
With the battling trio of Lee Bowyer, Barry Ferguson and Craig Gardner usually taking up the central midfield positions, Blues’ creativity mainly comes from out on the flanks.
That’s where the 27-year-old’s quick feet and impressive crossing ability are used to great effect.
Fahey has firmly established himself in the first team and has started ten of Blues’ 16 Premier League fixtures so far this season.
He will be hoping to keep his place in the team when Blues travel to Wolves on Sunday afternoon.
Earlier this year Fahey was described by manager Alex McLeish as an inspiration and the versatile midfielder was rewarded with a new and improved contract as a result.
Now the ex-Villa trainee is hoping to repay him by unlocking Premier League defences for Blues.
“Before I came here I was known as a creative midfielder,” said Fahey.
“It’s nice that I got a couple of decent crosses into the box against Spurs and that’s the way I want to be remembered. I want to be creative.
“I do a lot of defensive work but it would be nice to start doing a bit more going forward.
