Peter Pannu has refused to become embroiled in a war of words with Sebastian Larsson's agent.
Per Jonsson, the winger's representative, accused Blues of treating the winger like a farmer would cattle and blasted them for a lack of class.
His outburst was sparked by the failure to agree a new contract with Larsson - whose present deal expires in the summer - and the constantly shifting stance towards him.
Larsson has become so unhappy, Jonsson claimed, that he handed in a transfer request on Thursday, which was denied.
But Pannu, Blues acting chairman, said the hoped to resolve Larsson's future before the season's end, and insisted that he would not be sold in the January transfer window.
"Seb remains a vital member of our first team squad ahead of what is a very important period for the club across three fronts – the Carling Cup, the FA Cup and the Barclays Premier League," stated Pannu.
" We have reviewed Seb’s position at the club this month and believe that the player’s services are more important to the club than money at this moment in time.
"Since July 2008 Seb has been made several offers to improve terms, which the player has chosen to not take up.
