Super Kev netted the winner in Birmingham City's rousing 3-2 FA Cup victory over Coventry City.

But he has not started a Premier League game - and inquiries from other clubs have come thick and fast ahead of the transfer window deadline.

“I think I’ve shown the manager that I can still score goals, even though it was against a Championship side,” he said.

“I felt I was getting sharper and stronger as the game went on. As you can see, I have still got that eye for goal.

“And as we well know, we need to score goals at this club, we don’t score enough.

“I’d like to think if the manager wants to keep me, I would be used a lot more than I have the first-half of the season.”

Phillips admitted the chance to appear in the Carling Cup final was a factor in his future.

“There are options [other club]. We will have to see what happens.

“I am not going to lie. The only thing missing from my CV is being involved in a major cup final.

"I have played at the new Wembley twice and have a bad record, lost both times 1-0 with Albion [FA Cup semi-final and play-off final].

“It will be a fantastic occasion and I’d love to be a part of it, definitely.

“It will be a serious consideration, but it won’t be the be all and end all.”

Phillips only other full game for Blues this season was in the Carling Cup, when he scored an equaliser against Brentford in stoppage-time.

It rescued Blues from going out of the competition in the fourth round, and then they went on to triumph on penalties.
