BARRY Ferguson could be set to get the needle after cracking a rib in the Carling Cup final.
Ferguson played on for more than an hour with the injury after a clash with Samir Nasri.
He is doubtful for tomorrow’s derby at St Andrew’s against Albion.
But Alex McLeish said he had coped with a similar problem before, and needed a special procedure to help.
“It was in my Rangers time and he took what they call an injection of air into the ribs, a big giant needle as well, not something I would fancy!
“It creates some kind of space where it alleviates the pain.
