BEN Foster has been described as ‘world class’ – and the man who should be England’s first-choice goalkeeper.
Craig Gardner admitted he marvelled at Foster’s performance against Bolton Wanderers.
“He is tremendous. He should be England’s No.1. He does it week in, week out; day in, day out. In matches and training.
“He’s not only a top-class ‘keeper but a top-class professional and person. I can’t speak highly enough of him.
“When you have got someone like that behind you, you look back and you know he’s not going to let you down.
“Against Bolton, he was world class. They were unbelievable, some of the saves he made.
“I was relieved with the last one as the man got off me, Steinsson, but he tipped it over.
“The three points should have been dedicated to him.”
Foster was sharp of body and mind last weekend. But at Wigan Athletic in Blues’ previous match, he was culpable for both goals conceded.
That was not typical, said Gardner.
Blues travel to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. In the corresponding fixture in August, Foster’s home debut, he announced himself in fine style.
