Birmingham City: Sebastian Larsson on his commitment to the Blues cause

Sebastian Larsson

SEBASTIAN Larsson today insisted it never crossed his mind to give anything but his best for Blues.

Larsson has scored three goals in the last four games and has done as much as any player recently to try and secure Blues’ Premier League status.

His future still remains unclear as his contract is due to expire in June and plenty of clubs are circling with a view to taking him on a Bosman free transfer.

But Blues plan to resume talks about a new deal and Larsson has not made up his mind one way or another about what to do next.

And from his displays – not just recently but all season, in truth, as the saga has swirled around – no-one could accuse him of having lost interest and slacking on commitment.

“I can’t talk for any other players (in a similar situation), but there has never been any doubt in my mind, whenever I have pulled a shirt on I want to give my best,” said the winger.

“Whatever happens with my contract – or doesn’t happen – I don’t want to get relegated, just as much as anyone else doesn’t.

“I have been at this club for five years, I have got a lot of feeling for this club. It’s never entered my mind not to give my all.”
