DAVID Murphy believes that Blues’ football will improve further under Chris Hughton.
The new manager has been trying to instill a progressive passing game at St Andrew’s.
And, despite Blues’ lowly league position, the signs have been encouraging.
“He likes us to get the ball on the floor and pass it,” said Murphy.
“And we’re doing that in spells in the games. I think he would like us to do it a little bit more.
“But that will come in time. He’s a great guy to work for, we are all enjoying it, and I think you can see that we have been playing some good stuff.”
On return to action after the international break, Blues’ games comes thick and fast – at home and abroad.
Four days after Millwall’s visit on September 11, they embark on the group stage of the Europa League at home to Braga, then three days later it’s off to Southampton.
It’s going to be like that all the way through to the end of December.
Murphy said Blues would rather have such a demanding schedule than not.
“Everyone wants to play European football, no matter what division you are in,’’ he added.
