Wolves boss Mick McCarthy expects interest in James McFadden from other clubs as he plans talks with the former Birmingham City player's representative.
The Scottish international, currently a free agent, has been linked with Sunderland but is into his second week of training at Compton Park.
McCarthy said: “Nothing is happening as yet. He’s been in training with us and we will just see what happens. He is training fine. We’ll have a discussion with his agent.”
As for the supposed interest from Steve Bruce, McCarthy said: “I’m sure there is. There’s never been a player yet where there’s only been one club in for him.”
Meanwhile, Wolves will find out today if Kevin Foley needs surgery on his ankle.
“He went to see the specialist and it was inconclusive, so he’s having another look at it today,” said the manager.
“I guess really it is to determine whether he can train or whether he needs any intervention with it.”
Scans have shown Richard Stearman escaped a broken toe at Liverpool whilst Jody Craddock is set to resume training after a hamstring injury.
“Stearman has got a badly bruised toe,” McCarthy said.
“We thought he might have got a crack in it, but he hasn’t so that’s the good news.”
Matt Doherty is on stand-by to make his full Premier League debut this weekend, although Ronald Zubar played for the reserves last night.
McCarthy continued: “I’d say ‘Stears’ is a doubt for Newcastle. We’ll just see how it is. It depends how it reacts to training.”
