CHRIS Wood wants a prolonged stay at Blues so he can continue terrorising Championship teams with his blistering goalscoring form.
The 19-year-old’s loan from Albion expired yesterday and negotiations are well under way to extend his deal for at least another month.
Subject to the Baggies’ agreement, Blues can extend it at any time month by month – as long as the dates are continuous – and potentially request a standard loan for six months in the January transfer window.

After bagging a brace in the 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest, the Kiwi hotshot admitted that more time at St Andrew’s would be a benefit to his future.
“I would love to be here for longer,” said Wood. “But it’s down to the two clubs now for them to decide what’s best for them and what’s best for my future.
“They will be talking over the next few days and we’ll see how it goes from there. I’ll have a little bit of input but it’s out of my hands. Both clubs know I want to stay here and kick on.”
Wood has previously admitted his long-term aims are to break into the first team at The Hawthorns and compete in the Premier League.
At present he is way down Roy Hodgson’s pecking order, but his rich vein of form has not gone unnoticed by the Baggies’ management team.
What may work in his favour in the future is his unique playing style, which is considerably different to every other forward currently on Albion’s books.
